ROADMAP

How templates work

One click turns a template into a live Google Doc you and your attorney edit together — no PDF email chains, no version drift.

  1. Pick a template

Browse the library and click Use template on any card. Roadmap originals and Bonterms standard agreements are both available.

  2. We create the Google Doc

A new Google Doc is created inside your Roadmap folder on Google Drive, organized into a subfolder by template type so things stay tidy as your matter grows.

  3. Your attorney is added as editor

Your Roadmap attorney is automatically shared in as an editor, so they can comment, redline, and finalize alongside you in the same document.

  4. The doc opens in a new tab

The Google Doc opens immediately in a new tab. Pick up where you left off any time from your Drive — every doc you create from a template lives in your Roadmap folder.

How we collaborate

The Google Doc is the single working copy. You and your attorney edit, comment, and redline in real time — no emailing PDFs back and forth, no merging changes by hand.

For most templates the substance is in the body of the agreement; your attorney tailors the cover page to your specific deal — parties, dates, fees, scope. Talk through changes in your Slack channel or directly in Google Docs comments.

What about confidentiality?

Every document lives in your Roadmap folder on your own Drive footprint. Sharing is limited to you and your Roadmap attorney — no broader access is granted. Notification emails on permission grants are suppressed so your inbox stays quiet.

Where the templates come from

Roadmap originals

Drafted by Roadmap attorneys as market-standard, client-friendly working drafts. Your attorney tailors them on the cover page to your deal.

Bonterms standard agreements

Industry-standard forms reproduced verbatim under the Creative Commons BY 4.0 license. Edits happen on the cover page, leaving the standard body intact.
